One of the best things of being a part of the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association is that I’ve met so many great people from the association; making a bunch of new friends from all around the world. Added to that list early on in 2017 is Burak Sarman, who trains at Nexus Jiu Jitsu in Melbourne, Australia.

After competing at the IBJJF European championships in Portugal, Burak took the opportunity to spend a couple of days sightseeing in London. With us being just a (relatively) short train ride away, he popped along to take our regular Wednesday night Gracie Jiu Jitsu class in Chelmsford.

Covering some movement drills, and some attacking options from the top turtle position, I learnt some great techniques. But more importantly, I walked away from the evening with some powerful concepts that can be applied to many aspects of my current Jiu Jitsu arsenal.

Well received by Peter, myself, and all of the guys at Team Pedro Sauer UK, we can’t to have Burak visit us again, the next time he’s in the UK!
