Returning to train with us again for the third time, at the beginning of November, Halldór Sveinsson flew in from Iceland to share his knowledge with the Gracie Jiu Jitsu group from Laurence Sandum‘s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford.

Halldór, himself a PSBJJA Purple Belt, split his seminar time into six sessions over five days; each with a focus on a different aspect of GJJ, including:

Headlock defence
2 on 1 guard
Attacking from the mount
Mount escapes
Attacks from the back
Back escapes
Cross body attacks

At the end of weekend, regular trainees from the group were awarded extra stripes on their belt, as a show of recognition of all their hard work; well done guys!

As with every time Halldór comes to train with us, his visit was jam packed with information and was great fun on and off of the mat! Thanks Halldór; I look forward to training with you again in 2014!
