The session began with a warm up of offensive and defensive footwork variations, before focus shifted to elbows and their correct application.
The third quarter of the seminar focused on different types of pad holding that Muay Thai coaches can use to develop their students skills, be it power, speed or quickness of thought.
The last half hour was spent working through a variety of fitness drills, designed to improve cardio and determination.
The seminar was just part of a full day assessment for Alex Barnett, who was grading for her UK MASDA 2nd Level Black Belt in Muay Thai. Alex had spent the morning going through syllabus material. After the seminar the grading finished with Alex being pushed to her limits with sparring and then a gruelling fitness test.
Alex’s dedication and effort paid off as she passed; well done Alex!
