On Saturday 16th April 2011, a number of UKMASDA Muay Thai Black Belt candidates, including Tony Child who teaches Martial Arts in Swindon, travelled to Laurence Sandum’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford, Essex for a day full of assessment.
The morning consisted of an assessment of syllabus material and sparring.
The afternoon began with a seminar given by Master Simon Wells. Simon started with a demonstration of some Kali from the Lapunti Arnis de Abanico system, before moving onto three hours of hard-paced Muay Thai.
After the seminar the grading finished with the candidates being pushed to their limits with a gruelling fitness test.
Their hard work and effort paid off, as they all passed. A big congratulations to Tony Child, Peter Squire, Dave Mecham and David Mills!
